Nursing Supervisor, Long Term Care

POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to direct the total nursing care activities in the facility during each tour in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing, to assure that the highest degree quality resident care can be maintained at all times. # EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing, college or university, licensed in the state of Connecticut. Must be CPR certified. Maintains a calm and organized demeanor. Delegates responsibilities appropriately. 6.##### Collaborates with physicians to facilitate patient treatment plan and notifies physicians in a timely manner. Maintains positive rapport and professionalism with physician interactions and seeks information from physician regarding patient treatment plan in order to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction. 7.##### Acts as an educational resource and consultant in area of expertise to other staff. And provides updates and pertinent clinical knowledge to other staff. 8.##### Continually assess unit functions and responds accordingly to changing unit needs. 9.##### Thoroughly investigates accidents and incidents and identifies problems and initiates corrective action in collaboration with Nurse Manager to assure that patient care needs are met. 10.# Ensures that all employees are aware of their performance expectations and are thus held accountable. Serves as a role model for employees by demonstrating exemplary professional performance; recognizes and provides positive feedback to employee demonstrating exceptional performance. 11.# Ensures facility is secure on shifts; appropriately notifies administrative staff regarding safety and security issues. 12.# Participates in performance evaluation of staff on their shift of duty. 13.# Effectively addresses unusual patient care or unit management issues and provides direction to staff regarding unclear issues. Initiates development of policies or guidelines in collaboration with Nurse Manager or administration to address unusual events/issues. #

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
