Senior Mechanical Engineer

Details: A Senior Mechanical Engineer job in Tolland, CT is currently accepting applications. This is a direct, permanent position with our key industrial client. To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering along with 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience designing dynamic motion systems in a machine automation environment. In this role you will lead all aspects of mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and mechanisms to meet pre-established design parameters/requirements. Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities o Lead all aspects of mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and mechanisms to meet pre-established design parameters/requirements. o Develop specs based on product requirements documentation supplied by product management with input from customers. o Prototype, develop test criteria, design test procedures, assemble and test hardware systems to validate design in the areas of functionality, reliability, performance, cost, serviceability and manufacturability. o Create design documentation, including detail drawings with GD&T, and assembly drawings. o Perform tolerance studies. o Conduct or participate in design reviews to validate conformance with specifications. o Interface with customers, vendors, machine shop, cross-functional members of NPD teams or functional groups to support design of new or redesign of existing products. o Strong 2D and 3D CAD / solid modeling skills (Siemens NX experience preferred). o Develop, maintain and release technical documentation and other deliverables in accordance with NPD and engineering processes. o This position may require up to 10% global travel. Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Qualifications o BS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering field is required, and Masters is preferred o Ideally, a minimum of five (5) years of mechanical engineering experience designing dynamic motion systems in a machine automation environment.  o Exceptionally strong junior candidates may be considered. o Experience designing for low to medium volume production processes including: machining, casting, extrusion, sheet metal, welding, thermoforming, and molding o Knowledge of materials, statics, dynamics, pneumatics, mechanical drives and power transmission (gears, belts & pulleys, ball & leadscrews, motors, etc.), motion engineering o Demonstrated team player and independent thinker o Strong communication skills (verbal and written) o Excellent investigative, analytical and problem solving skills o Must possess analytical skills in approaching finding root causes and developing corrective actions o Strong 2D and 3D CAD / solid modeling skills.  o FEM/FEA, DFMA, FMEA experience If you are interested in this Senior Mechanical Engineer job in Tolland, CT, please apply via the "apply now" link provided. 287193
